Singer My Linh is Korea's new appointed tourism ambassador |
Vietnamese pop singer My Linh is among 17 new tourism ambassadors from other countries appointed by South Korea.
An accreditation ceremony for the appointment was held July 26 by the Korea Embassy in Hanoi.
Starting next month, the 36-year-old singer will take part in events organized by the Korea Tourism Organization to encourage votes for Vietnam's Ha Long Bay and South Korea's Jeju Island to be listed among the Seven New Natural Wonders of the World.
My Linh will join 16 ambassadors from Japan, Germany, France, Singapore, Thailand and other nations in the four-month long tourism promotion campaign that will end in November.

Lim Hyung Taek, chief representative of the Korean Embassy’s Department of Tourism and Culture in Vietnam, said My Linh was chosen for her talent and distinguished singing career spanning nearly two decades.
My Linh has visited Korea several times so far. She was invited to perform at the Busan Music Festival in 2005 and the Vietnam-Korea friendship concert in 2007. In 2008, she performed for the Vietnamese community in Korea.
